Top Films is convincing as a film magazine cover as it is based on solid genre research (several major film magazine brands, their ethos and audiences) and close textual analysis of genre codes & conventions (three detailed pieces). The cover meets all genre conventions successfully (masthead, topline, coverlines, puff, price) and places the main splash, the film RISK, centrally featuring one of the principal actors. All is legible, well balanced and finished to a high standard. A central image that conveyed more of the 'riskiness' of the film and conveyed some of its thrills and danger would have sold it more effectively and tied in more cohesively with the poster.

  3. Excellent work. I like the re-draft of your magazine cover very much as now it so strikingly echoes the poster, thereby making a cohesive promo pack together with the trailer.
